The celebrations will include numerous social activities and rituals which culminate after sunset. The most famous and popular part of the festival is launching a krathong. A krathong is a floating lantern carrying candles and joss sticks, it's usually decorated with banana leaves and flowers and sometimes a small coin is included as an offering to the river spirits.
